A portion of nobly botrytic fruit has produced a distinctive style of wine. It has a core of citrus fruit characters, particularly lemons and limes, but there is also an undercurrent of white fleshed peaches and nectarines. The botrytis has added hints of honeysuckle and also given the wine extra concentration and richness. A seam of natural acidity and minerality flows through the wine and gives it an off-dry finish length and zest.

The grapes for Roaring Meg come from Mt Difficulty's Cromwell basin vineyards managed by their dedicated viticultural team. Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Riesling palate shows delicious succulent ripe citrus flavours, whilst medium-dry in style, it has a lovely backbone of natural acidity. This wine is made from TWR's oldest vines (planted in 1979) and has gorgeous lifted aromas of jasmine, fresh lemon, and ripe Kaffir lime which follow through on to the palate. Flavours of fresh lime juice, lemon sorbet and ripe grapefruit with hints of floral spice are balanced by a fine backbone of ripe acidity. This Riesling is a dry style which has excellent fruit weight and concentration to balance the lingering mineral acid structure. This wine is finely structured with great length of flavour.

TWR's passion for making and drinking Riesling is based partly on the wide variety of styles that this variety can produce. This Riesling 'M' is designed from the 'vineyard-in' in a medium-dry style and is dangerously drinkable. Lifted aromas of mandarin, pink grapefruit, and white peach follow onto vibrant, ripe flavours of the same with juicy lime with underlying slatey mineral notes. This wine is fine and soft with excellent fruit weight and concentration to counterbalance the mouth-watering acidity.
