Koonunga Hill Shiraz joined the range in 2002, a contemporary reflection of Penfolds multi-regional sourcing philosophy. Shiraz from the warmer districts of South Australia is carefully blended, with the Barossa Valley always well represented. Ripe plum, blueberry & sweet spice - undeniably South Australian Shiraz. Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet is a reflection of the Penfolds winemaking style and philosophy. Sourced from premium vineyards across South Australia, the wine is known for its full-flavoured style with excellent Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon fruit, firm yet well-rounded structure and balanced oak. Made as a traditional 'Australian blend', the Shiraz component provides fleshy fruit flavour while Cabernet Sauvignon provides a frame of fine grained tannins. Date, boysenberry & sweet cinnamon abound. Pair with grilled meats, lamb chops or charcuterie.

Born from a "Red Winemaking Trial" that began in the early 1990s, Penfolds RWT Bin 798 Shiraz has long since outgrown its experimental beginnings to become a benchmark for contemporary Barossa Valley Shiraz. The 2024 vintage showcases the style with layers of blackberry, mulberry and blackcurrant, woven through exotic spice, violet, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and savoury olive notes. Plush and velvety across the palate, fine, mouth-coating tannins provide structure and impressive length, while French oak adds depth and poise. The 2022 vintage is unmistakably St Henri, offering a rich, fruit-forward palate with a quiet sense of power. Aromas of raspberry, wild berries, freshly roasted coffee and cinnamon unfold in the glass, followed by savoury hints of marinated olives, peppers and brine. The palate brings together generous berry fruit with hazelnut, macadamia, white chocolate and Dutch liquorice, creating a plush, layered wine with real presence. A tribute to the Barossa's winemaking heritage, Pepperjack is crafted using a blend of traditional techniques and modern flair. Winemaker Richard Mattner - a born-and-bred Barossa local - loves making Pepperjack wines as much as he loves drinking them, especially alongside a great steak. As he says: "Why would I need anything else?" Deep dark red with a vibrant purple rim, the nose bursts with rich aromas of blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, mocha, and spice. The palate is plush and layered, delivering concentrated dark fruits, fine tannins, and a soft, lingering finish. Pepperjack Shiraz is a true Barossa classic.

The wine has a wonderful aroma displaying dark plum, redcurrant and red cherry fruits along with subtle chocolate and a touch of oak derived spice. The palate is plump & generous with ripe fruit characters of plum, cherry and redcurrant. Mocha coffee and subtle aniseed characters are also present along with vanillan oak to balance the fruit flavours. The wine is medium-bodied with a soft mid-palate & pleasing tannin structure. It is a well balanced wine with great texture, good length and enjoyable fruit flavours on the finish.
